Hire Our Studio
A big part of Silk is our step free access studio which can be used for workshops, classes, 1-2-1 work and groups. We invite applications from practitioners and groups with an active specialism or inclusion of LGBTQ+ people and applications can be submitted here. Spec:
Our Studio is 9.4m x 3.1m and has step free access. On arrival at the venue, we have double doors which open out to a full width of 1.5m and a fold out ramp which is yours to use for accessibility for those in wheelchairs. Reception is decorated in neutral colours and allows for ample space for wheelchairs to turn and manoeuvre. Moving from reception into the Studio, the door width is 79.3cm. This is followed by a ramp up into the space.
We have multiple lighting options, ranging from neutral low lighting, electric candles, or an assortment of different colour toned lights which can be varied in intensity to change the mood of the space.

How do I hire the studio?:
Silk is a LGBTQ+ specialist well being space. Because of this it is of vital importance that we only platform practitioners with active inclusion of LGBTQ+ people in their work. This means that to use our space we need to see clear evidence of LGBTQ inclusion in your work. For example, are you actively using pronouns? Are you aware of health issues which present obstacles to Transgender people accessing wellbeing support? Are you informed on how Gender Dysphoria might impact someone’s relationship with their body? These are the types of themes we are looking for in practitioners using our space at Silk. We have an application process for all practitioners who come to work at Silk so as to ensure that they are inclusive and working to the values we care about. Once your application is approved, you will have access to the Silk online booking system and be able to book the Studio space for your work. In return, we will not only provide you with an LGBTQ+ inclusive wellbeing space but platform and help to raise awareness of your work.
